Pat Robertson's take on divorce and Alzheimer's Disease

This article that I recently came across is very troubling. Two of Christianity's core virtues are compassion and mercy. Pat Robertson is a public face of believers in Christ  and the points that he makes here are selfish and cold. To recommend divorcing a sick, helpless spouse because of a disease is blatantly UN-Christian. I believe this would be the time when your spouse would need you the most. With the divorce rate being nearly the same for Christians and secular marriages it would be nice to see more Christian leaders encouraging marriage and not divorce.
